a double-wide mobile home in north liberty county was destroyed by fire early monday morning. tarkington volunteer fire department responded around 1:30 a.m. monday to a structure fire on c.r. 2184 near C.R. 2192. when tarkington volunteers arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames. firefighters from cleveland, north liberty county, and plum grove also responded. according to tarkington assistant fire chief dalton gregory, because of the size of the fire they concentrated on keeping it from spreading. that monday morning blaze destroyed the unoccupied tarkington mobile home. the liberty county fire MARSHALL is investigating the cause.
