Entergy reps will speak at Liberty-Dayton Area Chamber luncheon

Make plans to attend the Liberty-Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce’s monthly noon luncheon on Wednesday, June 19, at the Liberty Center. This month’s guest speakers will be from Entergy Texas who will discuss the company’s soon to be installed advance metering system as well as topics like energy efficiency, lighting and company grants. Entergy Texas provides electricity to approximately 458,000 customers in 27 Texas counties, including many customers here in Liberty County. Starting this year, customers will begin to see advanced meters installed at their homes and businesses with a projected completion sometime in 2021. According to Entergy officials, the deployment of advanced meters will upgrade their systems with new technology that will provide customers greater benefits and control. Advanced metering is digital technology that enables secure communication by transmitting meter readings to the electric network access point housed on an electric pole near the meter. That data is then transmitted to the utility through a secure cellular network. Shortly after a customer’s meter is installed, they will be able to access their online account and view daily energy use displayed in 15-minute increments. The customer’s energy use information will be updated to the online account every 4 to 5 hours. Learn more about the advanced meter technology and Entergy Texas’ installation schedule by going online to www.energyfuturetexas.com. Once more, representatives from Entergy Texas will be the guest speakers at this month’s Liberty-Dayton Area Chamber noon luncheon set for Wednesday, June 19, in the Liberty Center at City Hall. The $12 meal will be catered by Linda Durio. It includes chicken fettucini, salad, garlic bread and assorted desserts. For reservations, call the Liberty-Dayton Area Chamber during business hours at 936-336-5736 or email chamber@imsday.com.
