Book & Bake Sale organizers seek goodies to sell during Jubilee

The Friends of the Liberty Municipal Library’s huge annual Book and Bake Sale will be in the foyer of the Humphrey’s Cultural Center on Friday, March 22nd, and Saturday, March 23rd, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. That’s during the Jubilee. Beverly Davis, chair of the bake sale, needs people to provide goodies to sell and – of course - people to purchase the goodies for this fundraiser that benefits the library. Those goodies include cakes, pies, candy, cookies, soups, breads, muffins, pickles, jams, jellies, dips, just anything edible. The most popular is the fabulous casseroles to be sold. These goodies may be brought to the foyer of the cultural center on Thursday, March 21st, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and also early of Friday morning the 22nd. Golden’s Furniture always furnishes a freezer so things like casseroles can be stored there until sold. Items should be labeled and, for casseroles and other similar items, please include directions on cooking and how many the item will serve. A spring theme may be used to decorate the items. Organizers say those who cannot provide goodies can give monetary gifts since the library is so important to the community. Checks should be made out to Friends of the Library. If you have questions, call Beverly Davis at 936-336-7476. By the way, The Friends of the Liberty Municipal Library will also be selling their new over 100 page cookbook for $15 with proceeds also going to the library. Once more, the annual Jubilee Book and Bake sale is a week from this Friday and Saturday – that’s March 22ndand March 23rd- from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For information about the Jubilee Book and Bake Sale, call the Liberty Municipal Library at 936-336-8901.
