Dayton to hold final public meeting on UDC

Throughout most of last year, the City of Dayton held a series of public meeting for the public to learn about and discuss the city’s planned Unified Development Code or UDC. Now, the final public meeting on the proposed planned development code changes will be held on Thursday March 21st at 6 p.m. at the Dayton Community Center. Dayton Mayor Jeff Lambright said many of the city’s building codes needed updating, even without the residential, commercial and industrial growth the city of Dayton is anticipating.  Dayton City Manager Theo Melancon said Dayton residents are urged to attend the final UDC meeting to see the almost-finished product before a list of new or altered city building ordinance go before Dayton Council for final approval.  Once again, the final public meeting on Dayton’s Unified Development Code will be at 6 p.m. Thursday March 21st in the Dayton Community Center, 801 South Cleveland Street. Dayton City Manager Theo Melancon said after that final public meeting, the UDC plan will go to the Dayton Planning Department for touch ups before presentation to Dayton City Council for final approval on May 20th.
