New Dayton police chief on priorities

The City of Dayton’s new Police Chief has been on the job for roughly a month now. Rob Vine comes to Dayton after serving for the past five years as Police Chief in the City of Gladewater. Chief Vine said at this point in his new job, he doing a lot of observing and talking with his police officers about needs and goals for the department. He said one priority is getting the Dayton Police Department recognized by the Texas Association of Police Chief. We have often reported that recognition is given to police departments whose policies, operations, procedures, facilities and equipment meet the standards set out by the Police Chiefs Association. It is a big honor for any police agency in the Lone Star State. Chief Rob Vine spent the first 16 years of his law enforcement career in the Northeast Texas City of Mt. Pleasant but again, most recently served as chief in Gladewater. Chief Vine and wife Kristi have five children – 4 at home, 1 at college.
