Annual Men's Health Fair set for Jan. 26

The Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center is hosting the free Annual Men’s Health Fair on Saturday January 26th from 8 a.m. to noon. The event began several years ago with a prostrate screening clinic co-sponsored by the hospital and KSHN Radio. In recent years, more free services have been added to give men more potentially life saving information about their health. The Liberty Dayton Medical Clinic’s Melissa Richards said no appointment is needed to attend the Men’s Health Fair.  In addition to the DRE and PSA blood test for Prostate Screening, the Men’s Health Fair will provide a number of other blood and blood pressure tests, all free of charge. Experts recommend prostate screening for men over age 45 and say it is even more important for men with a family of history of cancer and African American men to be tested and experts say start younger, around 40. Again, that free Men’s Health Fair is Saturday January 26th from 8 a.m. to noon. No pre-registration is necessary, but for more information, call the hospital at 936-336-7316, ext 124. The Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center is at 1353 North Travis in Liberty.
