Four Dead: An early morning 3 vehicle accident on State Highway 146 just south of Dayton left 4 people dead. According to information from the Dayton Police Department it was around 6:30 Monday morning when a Chevrolet truck traveling south crossed into the northbound lane of State Highway 146 and struck a Ford truck head on. All 3 people of the Ford truck were killed along with the driver of the Chevrolet truck. Police believe the driver of the Ford truck saw the Chevrolet veering into the northbound lane and attempted to avoid the collision. A third vehicle was also involved in the accident and the driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment. It was the worst fatality accident in recent memory here in Liberty County. Again 4 are dead after an early Monday morning head-on collision just south of the newly opened Fuel Max on 146 South. Names of the deceased were not released pending notification of family. We do know three of the four were not from Liberty Co. The address of the 4th who died is not yet known. The accident is being investigated by the Dayton Police Department.

Auto/Pedestrian: It was just before 10 Monday morning that Chelsi Trahan-25 of Liberty was pinned between her husband’s truck and a tree in the 1500 block of N. Travis. Liberty P. D. Sgt. Joel Davila said Ms. Trahan was attempting to start the truck. The manual transmission was already in gear, and it lurched forward pinning her between the truck and a tree. Sgt. Davila said Ms Trahan sustained injuries to her leg and arm. She was transported to a Kingwood hospital by City of Liberty EMS. Though said to be serious, Ms Trahan’s injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
