Bond Funds: In May of 2015 voters in the Liberty Independent School District approved a 33.5 million dollar bond project. The project added buildings and made major improvements at all four LISD Campuses. Now fast forward to 2019 and most of original projects have been completed. LISD assistant superintendent Dusty McGee said because of sound investing by the district there are even some bond funds leftover. The surplus funds are now being put to use on projects that based on the original planning were left off that 2015 bond proposal. McGee said new intercom systems at San Jacinto Elementary School and Liberty Middle School are not glamorous however they are essential in the day to day operation of schools. Dusty McGee said these projects were only possible due to sound investing by the district. We will cover more of the projects in later news cast.
