Upgrades Continue at LISD: In May of 2015 voters in the Liberty School District approved a 33.5 million dollar bond project. The project made improvements at all four LISD Campuses. Now fast forward to 2019 and the original projects have been completed. Some minor details do remain. LISD assistant superintendent Dustin McGee said because of sound investments by the district financial experts there are some bond funds leftover. Those surplus funds are being put to use on projects based on need left off the 2015 bond. Mr. McGee said one is the awning extended in the back of San Jacinto Elementary, creates a new pick up and drop off lane for students. The awning protects them from the elements. McGee said this project was possible due to sound investments by LISD.
