Shooting: A Dayton man is in jail, charged with murder, in connection with an early Tuesday morning shooting. Liberty County Sheriffs Capt. Ken Defoor said they got a call just after midnight Tuesday of a reported domestic disturbance on CR 685, off of SH 321 north of Dayton. When deputies arrived they found Jose’ Moncivais dead of a single gunshot wound to the head. Originally, the dead man’s widow, Clarissa Moncivais said her son Fabian Miranda, 22, had shot his stepfather in self defense. Capt. Ken Defoor said Sheriff’s Investigator, Travis Pierce, determined evidence at the scene did not support that claim. Fabian Miranda now has been arrested and charged with murder. Miranda is currently being held in the Liberty County Jail. Again, an early morning shooting on CR 685 claimed the life of Jose’ Moncivais and his 22 year old stepson has been arrested.
