A Day Full of Wrecks: On Monday it started early for the Liberty Police department. First came a call in the Hwy 90 river bottom between liberty and Dayton. A power line was down across the roadway making travel impossible. Liberty Police Lt Chip Fairchild said a wrecker was towing a pickup east on Highway 90. The truck being towed had a bed cover that at just the right moment was caught by the wind, ripped off the pickup. It was tossed into the air coming down on two power lines and pulling them to the ground. It didn’t take long to clear up the mess, but it did shut both east and west Hwy 90 lanes between Liberty and Dayton for a while. Motorcycle wreck: Then a couple hours later came a wreck on Hwy 146 north, just north of the N. Main Baptist Church. It was a motorcycle crash, again that shut down the roadway, but this one was more serious. City Police Lt. Chip Fairchild said the one was caused when two motorcyclists went to pass a vehicle turning left. While passing to the right side of the turning car, the second motorcycle struck the back of the first motorcycle throwing that rider from the bike. That rider was taken by Life Flight Air Ambulance described in critical condition. Then 3 wrecks at once: Then later Monday came three accidents investigated by Liberty PD kept EMS and rescue hopping again. The first was Main and Grand, the second Hwy 90 at South Liberty Oilfield Road and #3 at Sam Houston St. at Milam. Injuries in all three were minor
