Burnham Classic: As reported earlier, the recent 29th Annual Burnham Classic Golf Tournament was once again a success. On Wednesday, Bruce Burnham of the J.C. Burnham Foundation presented a check to Tri-County Behavioral Healthcare for $21,000. That organization serves healthcare of Liberty, Walker and Montgomery counties. Patti Atkins, board chair for Tri-County Behavioral Healthcare, said mental health is as important as the physical health, and this $21,000 helps this organization serve more individuals.
City Park Party: We have reported on the Annual City Park Party since it first began, now 21 years ago. It is set again for this Saturday September 14th at Liberty City Park. The come and go event is between 3 PM & 8 PM and all are invited to this wonderful event. Its free. The Park Party was started by founder, Rev. Del Mar Lee Coward. He always says this has always been a contract between the Lord and him. The City Park Party, for the 21st time, will be held at Liberty City Park this Saturday from 3 PM until 8 PM and it’s all free.
Mutton Bustin’: Mutton Bustin’ is a time honored tradition at the Trinity Valley Exposition. In years past the event was held during the rodeo portion of the TVE, however, as the event grew in numbers, a decision was made to have the participants to qualify first at the youth rodeo, and top riders will go onto the TVE rodeo. Drive One: Coming up this Saturday, another one of those terrific Ford Drive one for UR school. This time local Ford Dealer, BJ Ford is helping Dayton High School. Set for this Saturday, just come by BJ Ford on US 90 in Liberty take a spin in a new Ford vehicle and for every test drive Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to Dayton High School.
