Vaccination Event: There are now more children and adults in the community who are vaccinated against measles, mumps and rubella - thanks to a local outreach effort. A free vaccination clinic was held this past Saturday. Shannon Rasy, manager of the Liberty Dayton Rural Health Clinic, said nine adults and children received the MMR vaccine. In addition, one child showed up Saturday who needed other vaccinations as well. Ms. Rasy said, thanks to the Texas Vaccines for Children, those vaccinations were also provided free of charge. Besides those vaccinations, the Liberty Dayton Rural Health Clinic also offered free tetanus shots that had been provided through a federal program. Twenty-five people stopped by to take advantage of that free service. Shannon Rasy said the clinic will offer those free tetanus shots - while supplies last - during normal clinic hours. Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center Rural Health Clinic is at 1353 North Travis Street in Liberty.
