Memorial Hermann Agrees to DaytonFacility: The Dayton City Council met Monday night in a joint meeting with the DCDC Board of Directors. The big news came after a joint executive session. During that closed meeting, they met with Louis Smith, CEO for Memorial Hermann Hospitals Northeast Campus in Humble. When the open session resumed, DCDC President Richard Till called for a motion from his board, which was approved, to commit $250,000 to be paid to Memorial Hermann for building a primary urgent care facility in Dayton. The motion stipulates the facility be open 7 days a week from 7 until 7, staffed by two doctors. They commit to open the doors on or before January 1, 2016, and operate in Dayton for at least five years. The council also adopted a motion that obligates the City of Dayton to make a payment of another $250,000 to Memorial Hermann with all of the same stipulations. That’s a total $500,000 commitment to bring Hermann to Dayton. Hospital executives have agreed.
