Highway 90/RR: The Texas Department of Transportation is advising motorists to expect traffic delays on Hwy 90 just east of the Trinity River Bridge in Liberty. For the next approximately 30 days, TxDot's Sarah Dupre said crews are working to remove old unused railroad track that has crossed US 90 but is unused for decades. Motorists should expect periodic alternating lane closures. The work will continue Monday through Friday and occasionally on Saturdays from 7 am. To 6 p.m. Motorist are asked to use caution in the work area and expect delays.

LibertyPD Night Out: The Liberty Police Department is hosting a community wide block party in observance of National Night Out Against Crime. The event will be held at the Liberty Municipal Park from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday October 7th. Liberty PD Dispatch Supervisor Frances Wood said the event will include hot dogs, pet adoptions, impaired driver education, fun for the kids and lots more. It's a full evening of food, entertainment and education about local police and other emergency agencies. It's all free.

Football: Barbers Hill, Dayton, Hardin and Liberty will all be in action tonight. Hull-Daisetta has the week off. The Dayton Broncos host the C.E. King Panthers. Kick off is at 7 p.m. in Bronco Stadium. The Liberty Panthers are also at home for a non-district match up with cross-county rivals the Cleveland Indians. That games kicks off at 7:30 in Memorial Stadium. Both the Broncos and Panthers can be heard on KSHN 99.9 fm and online at kshn.com. On line only will be the Barbers Hill Eagles at Crosby. That district opener kicks off a 7 p.m. The Hardin Hornets travel to New Waverly to face the Bulldogs. Kick off is at 7:30. All four of tonight's games can be heard online at kshn.com. College Football Saturday: The University of Texas vs. UCLA broadcast starts at 6 p.m. Sunday: Houston Texans vs. Oakland Raiders. Broadcast starts at 2:55 p.m.
