Someday is Close: We have aired numerous reports on the importance of opening a "My Social Security" account on line to calculate retirement benefits, stay updated on reported earnings, and generally, be financially aware of your own future. Now Social Security has launched a national campaign to make the public aware of the advantages of opening such an account, and do it now, before retirement. The campaign is called "Someday is Closer then You". Kim Richard of the Beaumont Social Security office said it is intended as a wake up call for anyone putting off creating a personal social security account.
