Auto/Bicyclist Accident: A 15-year-old bicyclist, Benjamin Granhold, was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston after being struck by a car Wednesday afternoon. The Department of Public Safety reports the young man was riding his bike on CR 642 in Kenefick shortly after 4 p.m. Investigators say the youth rode his bike onto FM 1008 where southbound traffic was stopped due to road work. He then reportedly rode between the southbound vehicles into northbound traffic, which was moving. That is when he was struck by a passenger car. The teen was said to have abrasions and cuts on his back, shoulder and hip with some altered consciousness that improved before he was transported.
