Recount or No: KSHN Radio has talked with Liberty County Judge Craig McNair and Precinct #4 Commissioner Norman Brown about the possibility they will ask for a recount. Both lost re-election bids by close margins. Norman Brown, lost unofficially by a 90 vote spread to Leon Wilson, said he does not plan to ask for a recount. Craig McNair lost to challenger Jay Knight by a much narrower margin, only 35 votes. Judge McNair told us, at the moment he has no plans to request a recount, but he has some time to reconsider until after votes are canvassed, or 5 days after the election.


Sports Meeting: The spring meeting for Liberty middle and high school girls athletics, has been moved to next Wednesday, June 4th, at 6 p.m., in the Liberty High School gym. Liberty coaches are asking at least one parent of any incoming seventh through twelfth-grade girl interested in athletics next year, to attend. Cold Case Gets New Life: Texas Ranger Brandon Bess said each Ranger Company has a cold case unit. In 1982, in the city of Liberty, a young woman, Christy Wilson disappeared. She was found murdered the next day in a ditch on FM 1409. Now, decades later, advancement in investigative technology has allowed a new look at the case. That effort has resulted in discovery of a new fingerprint and at least one interview. Ranger Bess said they continue to look at this case, with the hope of finding the killer, and justice for the victim.


"Happy Days": The Liberty High School Fine Arts Department will present "Happy Days" the musical this weekend at the LISD Auditorium, behind San Jacinto Elementary School. Based on the classic television show "Happy Days", join all your favorite characters including "the Fonz", Richie, Potsie, Joanie and Chachi. This performance is a collaborative effort of students and some faculty. There are two shows: Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2. Tickets are $10 at the door.
