Early Voting: Early voters in the southeast corner of Liberty County should cast early votes in the new county owned community building on San Jacinto Street, next to the railroad tracks in Liberty. In the Cleveland area you can cast an early ballot at the Cleveland Courthouse Annex on Campbell Street. In Dayton, vote early at the Dayton Community Center on South Cleveland Street. Early voting in those locations is through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The fourth early voting location is Hardin City Hall on CR #2010, hours there are 3-7 p.m. through Friday.

Hurricane Season: With Hurricane Season about upon us, the 2014 Public Hurricane Preparedness Workshop is this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at a different location - the Cleveland Civic Center. Liberty County Emergency Management Coordinator Tom Branch said the workshop is an opportunity for the public to receive important information on how to prepare for this year's hurricane season. Researchers at Colorado State University predict there will be 9 named tropical storms with a third of those, three, reaching hurricane force.

Magnolia Ridge: It was Dustin Morris of Crosby who shot an eight under par 64 in Sunday's final round to the Championship Flight of the 61stAnnual Magnolia Ridge Country Club Golf Tournament. While that top division was an individual competition the other five flights were team play. In the First Flight, Sean Nelson and Robert Howell claimed top spot.
