Voting Discrepancies: An effort is under way now at the Liberty County Voter Registrar's office to determine how many voters were mistakenly allowed to vote in the May 10thDayton City Council Election. Liberty County Elections Coordinator Stephanie Warner said the task of finding out who those voters were and how many, falls to the County Voter Registrar's Office. As reported, the final arbiter of what will happen is the Texas Secretary of State's office.

Wreck: A Liberty woman, 19-year-old Lauren LeDay, was airlifted to a Houston hospital following a one vehicle crash in Liberty yesterday morning. She was alert and responsive. Liberty Police say it is still unknown why an SUV left the roadway on Highway 90 and struck a power pole. Information indicates the woman was trapped in her vehicle while rescue personnel worked to free her. The crash is under investigation.

DaytonISD Election: Dayton ISD officials have confirmed their election results are unaffected by any problems with this past Saturday's Dayton City Council Election. Since the two elections are held jointly, there was a question whether errors in the city election might impact the school election. The district plans to proceed with canvassing the results of the school trustee election at their May 20thschool board meeting.
