Rendition Forms: Business owners are reminded that tomorrow is the deadline to file property tax renditions with their county appraisal districts. Liberty County Chief Appraiser Alan D. Conner said to render is to list the taxable inventory, furniture, fixtures, machinery, equipment and other property that a business owned or managed as of January 1, 2014. Those who are not ready can file by tomorrow for an automatic extension until May 15. For more information, call the Liberty County Central Appraisal District at 936-336-5722.

CISD: The Cleveland school board met last Thursday and, as expected, hired Dr. Darrell Myers as their new school district superintendent. We reported back in March that Dr. Myers was named the lone finalist to replace longtime Cleveland ISD Superintendent Kerry Cowart. Now, after the state-required, 21-day waiting period, Dr. Darrell Myers has been named CISD's top administrator. Today is his first day on the job.

Rotary Fundraiser: Liberty Rotarians say their first sporting clay shoot Saturday was a success, thanks to participants, sponsors and volunteers. Money raised will go toward the Rotary scholarship fund for Liberty graduating seniors.

Easter Egg Hunt: KSHN radio will host our 31st Annual Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday morning at Liberty Municipal Park. The event is free for all kids nine years old and younger. Scattered about the city park hunt area will be 5,000 plastic Easter eggs filled with candy. There will also be 90 plus prize eggs, and the kids who find these specially marked eggs can claim their prize there at the park Saturday morning. In addition, there are three grand prize eggs. Instead of the traditional bicycles, this year's grand prizes include a Razor Electric Scooter and a karaoke machine. The third grand prize egg will be for an extra nice State Farm Insurance wooden wagon from Victor Barranco. The hunt starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, but we recommend arriving early and keeping your radio tuned to FM 99.9 for instructions.
