Abduction and Shoot-out: Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne reports Fabian Garcia, 27, was arrested Wednesday after abducting, at gunpoint, his girlfriend and their 6-month-old daughter. Later, Garcia reportedly wounded his girlfriends brother and fired shots at another vehicle. As law enforcement officers pursued, Garcia crashed his vehicle into a guardrail on FM 3180. Then, with the little child in his arms, Garcia reportedly began firing shots at a DPS trooper and Chambers Co. deputy. Eventually, Fabian Garcia was taken into custody and booked into the Chambers Co. Jail on multiple charges.

Rotary Clay Shoot: The Liberty Rotary Clubs Sporting Clay Shoot fundraiser is tomorrow at Clay Mound Sporting Center on Texaco Road in Liberty. Money raised from the event will benefit the Liberty Rotary Club Scholarship Fund. Organizers say the shoot is for all skill levels, even if you've never shot a clay target in your life. Cost is $100. Sign-in tomorrow at 8 a.m. or pre-register at www.iclays.com.

4-H Clover Campaign: The National 4-H Council has announced this year's 4-H Paper Clover Campaign coming up on April 23 through May 4 at Tractor Supply in Liberty and Cleveland. Shoppers at both stores will have the opportunity to support 4-H in Liberty County by choosing to purchase paper clovers for $1 or more at checkout counters. The money raised will be donated to 4-H to support 4-H youth development program activities in Liberty County.

Bird Club: The Lower Trinity Valley Bird Club will take a field trip tomorrow to the Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge and High Island to observe the spring migration of birds.
