City Sued: In January we reported on a condemnation hearing, where special commissioners set the sale price on a piece of property sought by the City of Liberty at $134,000. Following that hearing, the property owner had 20 days to accept. They did not. Liberty City Attorney Randy Gunter said now the California based owner has filed a lawsuit against the city, which is in essence, an appeal.  Now the action will go through mediation, negotiations, or go to a court hearing in County-Court-at-Law before Judge Tommy Chambers, or a jury.

Candidate: A fourth candidate, Troy Barton, has filed to run for a seat on the Dayton City Council. In Hardin Frank Huff will not seek another term as Hardin School Turstee. Deadline to file for city, school or hospital district elections is this Friday.

LibertyCityCouncil: Tuesday, the Liberty City Council and the Liberty Community Development Corporation Board held a joint meeting. Both approved resolutions dealing with the financing of the new street project. They authorized $3.2 million in sales tax revenues to finance part of the new street cost.
