Early Voting Starts Today: Today is the first day to vote early in the March 4thParty Primary Elections. Contested races on the Republican Party ballot includes a three way race for Liberty Co. Judge between incumbent Craig McNair and challengers Todd Fontenot and Jay Knight. Another countywide race is for Liberty County District Clerk between incumbent Donna Brown and Brenda McManus Jones. There are two contested JP races, four candidates for Pct. #4 JP, appointed incumbent Ralph Fuller, as well as Acie Penton, Will Cox and Audra Runnels. Two candidates are vying for Pct. 6 JP they are Alan D. Conner and Larry Wilburn. In the race for county commissioners, the two candidates in Pct. 2, is incumbent Charlotte Warner challenged by Greg Arthur. Incumbent Pct. 4 Norman Brown has three opponents, Leroy Hanel, Leon Wilson and Paul Kelly. State Representative John Otto has drawn an opponent in Terry Holcomb. The Republican ballot has 12 candidates for District #36 U.S. Representative, John Amdur, Phil Fitzgerald, Brian Babin, Jim Engstrand, Kim Morrell, Chuck Meyer, Doug Centilli, John Manlove, Ben Streusand, Robin Riley, Pat Kasprzak, and Dave Norman.  Early voting continues through February 28th.

Chamber Banquet: The 38thLiberty Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet is February 28th.  Tickets are $30 and available at the Chamber office in Liberty, 1801 Trinity, or in Dayton 109 S. Main.
