LISD Make Up Days: The Liberty Independent School District has announced two dates scheduled as make up days for days lost to inclement weather. The first make up day is Monday February 17th. The second make up day will be Friday June 6th.


Relay for Life: The 2014 South Liberty County Relay for Life, benefiting the American Cancer Society has been set for Friday April 4ththrough the morning of Saturday April 5that Liberty’s Memorial Stadium. TexasPrepaidCollege: Here’s a reminder, the enrollment period for the Texas Tuition Promise Fund ends February 28th. The program allows participants to lock in the cost of undergraduate tuition based on today’s prices. The next annual enrollment period begins Sept. 1, but then the new prices are based on Texas public college costs for the 2014-2015 academic year. Complete plan information is available online at


CASAFund Raiser: Court Appointed Special Advocates of Liberty and Chambers Counties will hold its Boots-N-Bandanas Benefit on Saturday, February 22, in the Dayton Community Center. CASA Executive Director Debbie Dugger said the organization’s volunteers provide a voice for children in foster care.
