Attempted Abduction: The Liberty County Sheriffs Department is investigating the attempted abduction of a Dayton student early Tuesday morning. According to Capt. Ken DeFoor, the 14 year old student was waiting for the school bus when a man described by the young student as “creepy”, driving a small white car pulled up to the bus stop and offered to take the girl to school. The suspect is described as a white male, age unknown, wearing a red checkered shirt tucked into his blue jeans, brown hair and a mustache. The man attempted to chase the student when she ran away, but due to a significant limp could not catch her. All parents and students are urged to be aware of this potentially dangerous situation. Report any unusual or similar events to this Sheriff’s Department or your local police department. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at (936) 336-4500.
