Hull State Bank: One of LibertyCounty’s oldest banks has been sold. Pending final approval by the various regulatory agencies, expected early next year, Hull State Bank has been sold to Texas First Bank of Texas Cityand Galveston. Chief Executive Officer Henry J. Gilfillian said the bank will continue to operate as is until that final approval. Hull State Bank was formed in 1919. Charges Dropped: Charges of Assault by Threat against Houston Attorney Josh Fitzgerald, by Hardin City Officials have been dismissed. In July, Fitzgerald was cited after he was accused of shouting profanities and threats against Hardin Mayor Julie Terry and Hardin City Attorney Jennifer Bergman. Mr. Fitzgerald denied the accusation. Justice of the Peace Precinct #3 Cody Parrish told All Nine News he had not received the Sheriff’s Department’s criminal complaint against Fitzgerald. That resulted in JP Parrish dismissing the charge. Sheriffs Captain Ken DeFoor said the charges had been given to Liberty County Attorney Wes Hinch’s office who determined the evidence did not exist to make an enhanced charge. When asked if he thought the charges against Josh Fitzgerald would be re-filed, Captain DeFoor said “probably not”.
