Sudden Cardiac Arrest: About 1.3% of athletes have an undetected heart condition that can lead to Sudden Cardiac Arrest. That condition took the life of Crosby High School Senior Cody Stephens. The Liberty-Dayton Regional Medical Center is offering free EKG tests to all athletes, band members and drill team members at all area high schools. More than 100 Dayton and Liberty high school athletes have taken advantage of that free screening. For more information parents can contact their high school athletic department trainer or Amanda Thornton at the Liberty-Dayton Regional Medical Center at (936) 336 7316.

Carol Bond New Owner: Well known and successful local business Carol Bond Health Food, has changed ownership. Long time general manager, Sherry Mettlen is the new owner of the longstanding business. Sherry Mettlen started with Carol Bond Health Foods in the 1980’s as a cleaning lady, one day a week, now some 25 years later, she owns the company.
