SO Seeks Information: The body of an unidentified male was found floating in the Trinity River between U.S. 90 and I-10 Saturday morning.  Liberty County Sheriff’s Captain Ken DeFoor said because of the condition of the body, detectives were not able to determine age or race, but an autopsy has been ordered. Authorities say the man was found clothed in blue jeans and a pair of ¾ high top brown leather work boots. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the Liberty County Sheriff’s Department at (936) 336 4500.

Dayton Parent Access: For the past three years, parents and guardians of Dayton ISD students have been using what’s called Skyward Parent Access to keep up with their kids’ grades, school activities, disciplinary action and more, online. DISD Technology Director Suzanne Chachere said the service is free and the access is secure. For information, call the administration office at (936) 258 2667.

The Liberty Panthers also started their season 0-1 after dropping the season-opener to state-ranked Jasper Bulldogs. In other Friday night action, the Class 2-A Hardin Hornets topped the 1-A Hull Daisetta Bobcats.

LibertyCouncil: At their meeting last Tuesday night, the Liberty City Council approved the annual agreement for fire protection services between Liberty County and the City of Liberty Fire Department.  Along with that approval, council added plans for a resolution requesting the county pay the Liberty Fire Department for fire runs outside the city limits from October 2012 through June 2013.
