Feral Hogs: The massive property damage caused by feral hogs is a growing problem in town and in the country. Liberty County Extension Agent Cory Long said a single hog can wreck as much as an acre of land in one night. He said there are no chemicals that repel feral hogs, so the only approved methods for dealing with them are hunting and trapping. It’s against the law to release them. Chamber Luncheon: Dayton Chamber of Commerce’s monthly noon luncheon is this coming Tuesday at the Dayton Community Center. Guest speaker is Liberty County District Attorney Logan Pickett. The $10 meal will be catered by Pappy’s Barbecue. For information or reservations, call the Dayton Chamber during business hours at 936-257-2393.


High School Football: The high school gridiron season kicks off tonight, and for the 37thseason, our station will broadcast the Liberty Panthers and Dayton Bronco games. Since 1991, the games have been on FM 99.9 with split-channel sports. For Libertyfans turn the stereo balance control all the way to the left while Daytonsupporters listen on the right side of their stereo dials. Longhorn Football: KSHN Radio begins another season broadcasting the University of Texas Longhorns football games this Saturday evening. The ‘Horns host the New Mexico State Aggies tomorrow with pre-game starting at 6 p.m. followed by kickoff at 7. That means a change to our Saturday programming. Roy Bennett’s “Country Classics” and “Liberty Bluegrass” will move to Sunday at 4 p.m. on FM 99.9.
