School Abuse Allegation: Parents of a 6th grade student at Nottingham Elementary School in Dayton are alleging the district used excessive force when disciplining their child. According to the mother, she gave permission for her child to be paddled at school last Friday. When the child got home, he complained of being sore. Over the weekend, the parents took their child to an emergency room. The parents allege doctors there said the child’s tailbone was dislocated. Child Protective Services were contacted by the hospital. According to the parents, they were directed by CPS to report the incident to law enforcement and not to send their child back to school as long as the administrator who spanked their child remained on campus. Dayton ISD released a statement saying they are conducting an investigation into the parents report.
