EMSProposals: In March, Liberty County Commissioners voted to advertise for bids for ambulance service for Liberty County. Thursday, April 18thwas the deadline for submitting bid proposals to the county. On that deadline date, two companies had submitted bids, Liberty County Emergency Medical Services, who has held the contract for many years, and Acute Medical Services of Humble. Those bids will be opened and considered by Liberty County Commissioners on May 14th.

LHS Lit-Crit: Liberty High School academic Literary Criticism Team earned its tenth invitation, in as many years, to compete at the UIL State Academic Meet as the State 3A Wildcard team. Lit-Crit members are senior, Key Buchanan, juniors Evelyn Brady and Michael Seay and sophomore Hudson Standish. Camilla Brady, a freshman alternate. The state meet will be just about a month from now.

Shred-It: The City of Liberty’s next free community Shred It Day is this coming Saturday from 9 a.m.to noonat the LibertyCity Hallparking lot. The shredding is done on site and it is not limited to Libertyresidents. Anyone within earshot can take advantage of the free service.  It will be held from 9 a.m. until noon, or until the shredding machine has filled the truck. Softball Playoffs: The Dayton Lady Broncos will be in a best of three series versus Little Cypress Mauriceville at Port Arthur Memorial. First game will be Friday at 7 p.m.Game two is Saturday at 1 p.m.and will be heard on KSHN radio. The Liberty Lady Panthers will face Orangefield Friday at 7 p.m.That one game playoff will be at Beaumont West Brook High. We will broadcast that game on KSHN Radio.
