Toddler Dies: Liberty County Sheriff’s Captain Ken DeFoor said just after 5 p.m. Wednesday evening, 20 month old Marshall Ward, was run over at the family home on FM 163 by his mother. The toddler was taken to Cleveland Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead by JP #6 Peggy Dunn. Sheriffs Department Sgt. Investigator Kenny Dagle is in charge of the investigation, which at this point, is being described as a tragic accident. We are told both parents are members of the Tarkington VFD. A candlelight vigil for the family will be held today at 7 p.m. at the Tarkington Fire Station on Hwy 321.

Electrical Shock: A Victoriaman who received an electrical shock was taken by Life Flight to a Houstonhospital yesterday morning.  Liberty County Sheriffs Department PIOCpl. Hugh Bishop reports John Ray Flores, 53, was backing a vehicle under some electrical lines when the accident occurred south of Dayton of FM 1409. Deputy Gordon Bean reported the victim was conscious and breathing when loaded onto that air ambulance.

Armed Robbery: LibertyCountySheriffs Capt. Ken DeFoor said aggravated robbery charges have been filed against Daniel Wade Hornback, 28 of Clevelandfollowing a joint effort. Hornback, is alleged to have gone on a crime spree. Captain DeFoor said the first armed robbery was a gas station in Cleveland. Then, it appears the suspect went to MontgomeryCounty, and held up another gas station at gun point. At that location, Hornback is said to have shot the store owner in the leg. Then, Capt. DeFoor said he drove back into LibertyCountyand robbed another store on Hwy 321, again, at gun point.  That was around 7:30 a.m.yesterday. Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a van fitting the suspect vehicle description around 7:40 a.m.Thursday, and found a gun and property from the robberies inside the vehicle. According to the Liberty County Sheriffs Department, Daniel Wade Hornback is reported to be wanted on a Family Violence warrant out of Montgomery County. No bond has been set.
