Fatality Accident: A Cleveland family of four was killed early Saturday morning in a two-vehicle wreck on S.H. 105 in Montgomery County. DPS Trooper Erik Burse said an eastbound truck swerved into the westbound lane, striking a passenger vehicle. All four people in that car died at the scene. They are identified as Jennifer Clouse, age 27, her husband, Nathan Clouse, age 28, and their children, 8-year-old Bailey Clouse and 6-year-old Jordan Clouse. The driver of the truck, Kevin Golden of New Caney, was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital. His condition is not known.

Jubilee: Festival-goers at the 28th Annual Liberty Jubilee didn’t let a little rain dampen their spirits, and those who turned out said they had a good time. Despite those misty, sometimes rainy conditions, Liberty City Manager Gary Broz said he was pleased with the turnout. As for Friday night’s street dance, Mr. Broz said the locally popular West of the Trinity Band seemed to be a bigger hit than Country Music Star Doug Stone.

Powerlifting: Ten high school athletes from Liberty, Dayton, Cleveland, Anahuac and East Chambers competed at the Texas High School Powerlifting Association State Meet over the weekend in Abilene. Leading the way among the locals was Omar Tebo of Liberty who placed second among the Super Heavyweights in Division 2.

Easter Egg  Hunt: KSHN radio will host our 30th Annual Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday morning at Liberty Municipal Park. The event is free for all kids nine years old and younger. Scattered about the city park hunt area will be 5,000 plastic Easter eggs filled with candy. There will also be 90 plus prize eggs, and the kids who find these specially marked eggs can claim their prize there at the park Saturday morning.  In addition, there are three grand prize eggs. Two will be exchanged for bicycles, and the third will be for an extra nice State Farm Insurance wooden wagon from Victor Barranco. The hunt starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, but we recommend arriving early and keeping your radio tuned to FM 99.9 for instructions.
