Unemployment Numbers: Employment numbers for Liberty and Chambers counties have shown steady improvement during the past two years. When compared to the same month back in 2011, there are now 1,362 more Liberty County residents working. In the past two years, Chambers County has added 844 workers to its employment totals. Nationwide unemployment was 7.9 % in January while in Texas the rate is down to 6.3 %.


Clay Shoot: The Dayton Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual Liberty County Clay Shoot this Saturday at Clay Mound Shooting Center in Liberty. DaytonCityCouncil: The Dayton City Council met Monday night and approved an inter-local agreement with the City of Liberty allowing the municipal judge in each city to fill in for one another when needed. This action makes formal a plan that allows Liberty City Judge Mike Little to sit in for Dayton Municipal Judge Alan Conner and vice versa.


Business Expo: The Liberty-Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2013 Business Expo is set for Thursday, April 11th, at the Liberty Center at Liberty City Hall. The popular event showcases the local business community while offering visitors chances to win nice prizes and enjoy tasty snacks. Booth spaces are going fast.
