Sex Assault Pleas: Two Cleveland women have been sentenced for their role in a 2005 sexual assault and videotaping of a teenage girl. Now, all four people originally charged in this case have been sentenced in the 253rdDistrict Court. Adelina Margarita Banuelos, 42, was recently sentenced to 20 years on three charges - sexual assault of a child, indecency with a child and sexual performance by a child. Ms. Banuelos was also given 10 years for sexual performance by videotaping. Those four sentences will run at the same time. Also given prison time was Anna Hudson, 49. She was sentenced to 10 years for indecency with a child. Last July, Edmundo Garcia pled guilty to two charges – sexual assault of a child and sexual performance. He was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment on both charges. A fourth person, Jimmy Lechinger, pled guilty last August and received 10 years probation.


Motorcycle Accident: A 29-year-old Liberty man was taken by air ambulance to a Houston hospital following a motorcycle accident Wednesday night. Liberty Police Department Public Information Officer Jennifer Bowles said officers received a report of a disturbance at Empty Pockets Saloon on Beaumont Avenue shortly after 9 Wednesday night. Witnesses told police Darin Lee Reinhardt was arguing with others at the bar. Once police were called, Reinhardt fled on a motorcycle and crashed a short distance away. Initial reports said he was unconscious and bleeding from an ear. Reinhardt was taken by LifeFlight air ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. His condition is not known, but reportedly Darin Reinhardt was stable at lift off.


VFW Ceremony: The Nolan D. Picket VFW in Liberty will hold a public ceremony tomorrow morning at 10 to honor the man for whom the post is named. 1stLt. Nolan Pickett is buried at the Florence American Military Cemetery and Memorial site in Italy. Picket volunteered as a bomber pilot, and his plane was shot down amidst heavy fighting in northern Italy on his first mission in January 1945. Tomorrow’s dedication ceremony will include photographs of the site where Nolan Picket is buried.
