LISD A.D. Search: Here’s an update on the search for a new Liberty ISD athletic director and head football coach. Liberty school Superintendent Dr. Cody Abshier said a committee of five district administrators and four community members has begun interviewing candidates. That search committee plans to interview 10 to 15 candidates from a pool of 85 applicants. Next, the committee will recommend three to move forward in the hiring process. From there, Dr. Abshier and Assistant Superintendent Randy Gunter will narrow the list to one prospect to recommend to the Liberty School Board. So, if all goes according to that plan, Liberty ISD trustees will hire a new athletic director - coach in mid to late February.

The average yearly rainfall in the City of Liberty is 61.25 inches. However, for all of 2012, total rainfall at our official gauge was 49.48 inches. Taking into account the past three years, we are now a staggering 60.32 inches behind the normal rainfall total for that 36-month period of time.
