Two Vehicle Crash: A wreck on Hwy 146 in Hardin Tuesday evening sent Ricardo Torres, 16, of Liberty to Memorial Hermann Hospital by air ambulance suffering serious leg fractures as well as facial lacerations. Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper David Schmidt said Ricardo Torres is now listed in stable condition. His mother, Josephine Torres was cited for traveling at an unsafe speed for the raining conditions.

Market Swine: This year’s TVE Grand Champion Market Swine was shown Wednesday by Ashton McCawley of Barbers Hill Jr. FFA. The Reserve Champion honor went to the pig shown by Brittney Boyd with Barbers Hill FFA. The market steer and commercial heifer judging is going on today.

Home Ec Winners: Here are the results from this year’s Trinity Valley Exposition Home Economics food judging. The Grand Champion Senior Decorated Cake belongs to Scotty Morse. Grand Champion Junior Decorated Cake belongs to Molly Barnette. The Grand Champion Senior Food award goes to Darrel Noack. Grand Champion Junior Food goes to Clay Jones. Garrett Holston won with his Grand Champion Pie. Grand Champion Bread was baked by Lily Worthy. Each of those Grand Champion delicacies will be sold as a part of tomorrow’s TVE Youth Livestock Auction. Peewee Grand Champion Home Economic honors go to Beth Lambert.

Cross Country: The District 22-3A cross country meet is this Saturday at the Liberty Municipal Park. It all starts at 8 a.m. with the boy’s varsity 5 k followed by girls two mile run. That district cross country meet will continue throughout Saturday morning with boy’s j.v., girl’s j.v. then the junior high boys followed by the junior high girls. LHS Coach Joe Roberts invites the public out to watch these athletes.
