kshn reported earlier this week on u.i.l. conference and district REALIGNMENTS. hARDIN’S football DISTRICT NUMBER HAS CHANGED TO division 1 DISTRICT 10-2A, and THEY ALSO PICKED UP A NEW POWERHOUSE OPPONENT IN the NEWTON eagles. OTHER MEMBERS OF DISTRICT 10-2A INCLUDE ANAHUAC, BUNA, KOUNTZE, warrEn, EAST CHAMBERS AND WOODVILLE. another change also occurred. hardin athletic director and head football coach larry haynes said only two teams will advance to the playoffs as opposed to the three schools moving on in recent years.

COACH HAYNES SAID THE ADDITION OF THE NEWTON EAGLES MAKES ADVANCING TO THE PLAYOFFS EVEN TOUGHER.

CONCERNING THE NEWTON PROGRAM, HORNET COACH LARRY HAYNES SAYS THE EAGLES HAVE A HISTORY OF SUCCESS.

ONCE MORE, THE TEAMS IN WHAT U.I.L. HAS NAMED DIVISION 1 DISTRICT 10-2A ARE HARDIN, ANAHUAC, BUNA, EAST CHAMBERS, KOUNTZE, NEWTON, WARREN AND WOODVILLE. THOSE EIGHT TEAMS WILL NOW BATTLE FOR JUST TWO NOT THREE PLAYOFF SPOTS. WITH THE ADDITION OF A PERENNIAL POWERHOUSE IN THE NEWTON EAGLES, HARDIN COACH LARRY HAYNES SAID MAKING THE PLAYOFFS WILL BE TOUGH BUT HE BELIEVES THE HORNETS WILL RISE TO THAT CHALLENGE.
